Bespoke Software Development, Built Around How You Work

Custom web applications, CRMs, client portals and SaaS platforms, built from scratch rather than bent out of something that was never meant to do the job. If your business runs on spreadsheets, workarounds and a tool that almost fits, this is the service that replaces all three with one system that actually fits.

What We Build: Web Apps, Portals and SaaS Platforms

Every capability we've built for our own business is available to our clients. Here's a snapshot of what's possible:

CRM Systems

Bespoke customer management with pipelines, activity tracking, and automated workflows.

Client Portals

Branded portals with project tracking, file sharing, messaging, and invoice visibility.

E-Commerce

Full online stores with product management, payments, orders, and inventory.

Admin Dashboards

Back-office systems with analytics, user management, content control, and financial tools.

SaaS Platforms

Multi-tenant platforms with subscription billing, role-based access, and full custom branding.

AI Integration

Content generation, chatbots, mockup tools, and workflow automation built into every platform.

Progressive Web Apps

Installable apps with offline support, push notifications, and home screen access. No app store needed. Deploy instantly to any device.

iOS & Android Apps

Cross-platform mobile apps published to the App Store and Google Play. Full device access with a single shared codebase.

API & Integration Platforms

Connect your systems with custom APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations. Payment gateways, accounting tools, CRMs. If it has an API, we can connect it.

Bespoke for You

Your own platform, built from the ground up around your exact requirements. No shared codebases, no feature bloat, just a system that fits your business like it was always there.

Why Choose MJS Media for Bespoke Software Development?

We don't do cookie-cutter, and we don't duplicate. Every application is its own build, shaped around how your business runs, who's using it, and where you're heading.

Custom Architecture

No templates, no clones, no shared instances. Every platform we build is its own standalone system, written around how your business actually works.

Scalable Infrastructure

We build on infrastructure that handles ten users or ten thousand. You won't need to re-platform as you grow.

API-First Design

We connect your app to payment gateways, CRMs, email tools, and whatever else your business runs on.

Security by Design

Row-level security, role-based access, encrypted data, and proper authentication, not bolted on at the end, but built in from the start.

How We Deliver Apps

Three ways to get your app to your users. We'll help you pick the right one.

Web Applications

Business tools that run in the browser. CRMs, dashboards, portals and e-commerce, responsive across all devices. No downloads, no app stores, instant updates.

Best for: Internal tools, SaaS platforms, client portals

Installable Apps (PWA)

Your web app, installed directly to the home screen. Offline support, push notifications, and an app-like experience. No app store submission, no approval delays, no app store commission.

Best for: Customer-facing apps, field teams, repeat-use tools

Native Mobile Apps

Full iOS and Android apps published to the Apple App Store and Google Play. Full access to the hardware: camera, fingerprint, NFC, the lot. The go-to choice when you want to be in the store and access everything the device can do.

Best for: Consumer apps, marketplace listings, hardware integration

Our Development Process

Discovery

We map your business processes, user journeys, and technical requirements to define the perfect solution.

Architecture

Database design, API planning, and UX wireframes before a single line of code is written.

Development

Agile sprints with regular demos so you see progress and can steer direction at every stage.

Launch & Support

Rigorous QA, performance testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance to keep your platform running.

How Long a Build Takes, and What Happens After Launch

Timelines depend on scope. Here is the shape of a build, so you have something to plan against before you have a brief.

A focused first version, one clear job done well for one main type of user, typically runs four to six weeks. A full platform with multiple user roles, payment handling and an admin side behind it typically runs eight to sixteen weeks. We give you a real timeline after discovery, not before it.

You see it as it is built. We work in short sprints with a demo at the end of each one, so you are steering while there is still time to steer rather than reviewing something finished.

After launch, we stay on it. Hosting, monitoring, updates and new features run under a managed support arrangement, and because we wrote the code we can move quickly on changes. Handing over the keys and disappearing is a thing some agencies do. It is not how this works.

Web App, Installable App or Native App?

There are three ways to put an application in front of your users, and the right one is usually obvious once you know who is using it and where.

We will tell you which of the three fits, and why, before you have spent anything.

A web application runs in the browser. Nothing to download, nothing to approve, and everyone is on the current version the moment we deploy it. This is the right answer for almost every internal tool, client portal, dashboard and SaaS platform.

An installable app, sometimes called a progressive web app, is the same application pinned to the home screen. It opens like an app, works offline, and can send push notifications, but it skips app store submission, approval delays and app store commission entirely. If your users open the thing daily, or work somewhere with patchy signal, this is the option worth looking at first.

A native app is a full iOS and Android build, published to the App Store and Google Play. You need it when you need the hardware, things like the camera, fingerprint or NFC, or when being findable in the store is part of the point. It costs more and it ships more slowly, because two stores have to say yes.

We Built Our Own Platform. Now We'll Build Yours.

The platform you're looking at right now? We built it. Client portals, CRM, invoicing, AI chatbots, live chat, e-commerce, SEO tools, admin dashboards. All custom-built because off-the-shelf tools couldn't match what we needed. That same engineering capability is available to you, not as a copy of our system, but as your own purpose-built platform designed around your business.

Need a simple internal tool? We can build that in a week. Need a multi-tenant SaaS platform with role-based access and Stripe billing? That's where we really shine. When it launches, our SaaS SEO agency service can take on the search side too. Either way, you get the same engineering standards.

Not every project needs to be a full platform build. Need a quick internal tool? A client-facing calculator? A data dashboard that pulls from your existing API? We handle ad-hoc development projects too, with the same attention to quality and security.

Whether it's a weekend sprint or a six-month engagement, we scale our process to fit your budget and timeline.

From Ad-Hoc Projects to Enterprise Platforms

What Moves the Cost of a Bespoke Software Build

Nobody can price a bespoke build from a one-line brief, and anyone who does is guessing. What we can do is tell you what actually moves the number, so you know what you are trading every time you make a decision.

Users and roles

A single-role internal tool is a different build to a platform where staff, clients and administrators each see different things and different permissions apply. Every role you add is another set of screens, another set of rules and another thing to test.

Integrations

Connecting to a mainstream payment gateway or accounting tool is routine work. Connecting to a twenty-year-old system with no documented API is not, and until someone has looked at it properly, nobody can tell you which of the two you have got.

How complex your data is

A booking system with one type of record is straightforward. A platform where records relate to each other in a dozen directions, and history has to be kept, needs a database design that earns its time before anyone writes a screen.

How much design it needs

An internal tool that ten of your own staff use can lean on clean, standard patterns. Anything your customers see, or anything you intend to sell, needs proper design work and that is real time.

What happens after launch

A build that is handed over and left alone costs less than one that keeps growing. Most useful software keeps growing, so it is worth deciding up front which of the two you are commissioning.

Custom Software Development or Off the Shelf?

Before any of that matters there is a more basic decision to make, and it is worth being straight about it.

If an off-the-shelf product does eighty per cent of what you need and you can live with the other twenty, buy it. It will be cheaper, it will be live next week, and somebody else maintains it. We will tell you so.

Custom software development earns its money in the gap. When the tool that almost fits is costing you a person a day in manual work, when three systems hold the same data and none of them agree, when the licence cost climbs every time you hire, or when the thing you do differently to everyone else is the thing the software will not let you do, that gap is where a bespoke build pays for itself.

The other reason is ownership. A bespoke platform is yours. It does not get discontinued, repriced or redesigned around somebody else's roadmap, and the code belongs to you at the end of it.

Software Development in Warrington and the North West

We are based in Warrington and work with businesses across Cheshire, Manchester and the wider North West, as well as clients right across the UK.

Talk to Us About Your Project

Being local matters more on a software build than it does on a website. Discovery is the part that decides whether the finished system fits, and mapping how a business actually runs goes faster in a room than it does on a call. If you want a bespoke software company in Cheshire, or an app development team you can sit down with, we are a short drive from most of the North West and happy to come to you.

If you are further afield, nothing changes about the work. We run the same discovery, the same sprint demos and the same handover remotely. Distance changes the logistics, not the work.

Get In Touch

Fully Branded. Fully Yours.

Every platform we build is a unique instance, delivered under your brand. Your logo, your colours, your domain, your own dedicated system. Your customers never see our name. Whether you need a standalone tool or a full business platform, we build it to look and feel like it was always yours.

Either way, you get production-grade code, modern architecture, and a platform that's built to scale.

What is the difference between web design and web app development?

Web design covers marketing sites, brochure sites, and e-commerce. It is the kind of presence that tells your story and converts visitors. Web app development is for building tools that actually do something: customer portals, booking systems, internal dashboards, workflow automation, or any product where users log in and interact with data. If your idea needs a database, user accounts, or logic running behind the scenes, it is a web app.

Do I need to know exactly what I want before approaching you?

Not at all. Some clients come with a detailed spec, others have a problem they need solving and no idea what the solution looks like yet. Either way, we start with a discovery conversation to understand your goals, your users, and your constraints. Then we shape the brief from there.

How do you handle ongoing support after launch?

We offer managed support packages that cover hosting, monitoring, updates, and ongoing development. If your needs change, whether that is new features, integrations, or scaling, we are already familiar with the codebase and can move quickly. We are not the kind of agency that hands over the keys and disappears.

What is the difference between a website and a web application?

A website presents information. A web application lets people do something with it. The difference is a brochure site against a customer portal where clients log in, upload files, track a project and pay an invoice. We build both, but this service is the interactive, functional side.

Can you build a custom CRM for my business?

Yes. Custom CRM development means a system shaped around your actual pipeline rather than the one a software company decided everybody has, covering lead tracking, pipeline stages, automated follow-ups and the reporting you actually look at.

Do you offer white-label solutions?

Yes. Every platform we build can be fully branded to your business. Your logo, your colours, your domain, your own dedicated system. Your customers never see our name.

What technologies do you use?

We pick the stack that fits the project rather than forcing every job through the same one. Our core toolkit for web apps is React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS on the front end, with a modern managed backend handling the database, authentication and server-side logic. Where a project is better served by WordPress or Shopify, we will say so and build it there instead.

How long does a typical project take?

It depends on complexity. A focused first version or portal might take four to six weeks. A full platform with multiple user roles, payment integration and admin dashboards typically takes eight to sixteen weeks. You get a realistic timeline after discovery.

Can you integrate with our existing systems?

Yes. We build API-first, so your new platform can connect to payment gateways, email services, accounting software, third-party APIs and older in-house systems. If it has an API, we can integrate it. If it does not, that is worth a conversation early, because an undocumented system is the kind of unknown that moves a timeline.

Do I need to publish my app to the App Store?

Not necessarily. A progressive web app installs straight from the browser onto any phone, with no store submission, no approval process and no commission. If you need full device access, or you want to be findable in the store, we build native apps too.

Can you build apps for both iPhone and Android?

Yes. We use cross-platform technology that lets us build once and deploy to iOS, Android and the web from a single codebase. That means faster delivery, lower cost and a consistent experience everywhere.

Do you offer bespoke software development in Warrington and Cheshire?

Yes. We are based in Warrington and work with businesses across Cheshire, Manchester and the North West. If you would rather run discovery face to face, or you want an app development team you can actually sit down with, that is easy to arrange.

Do we need to be local to work with you?

No. We work with clients across the UK and the process is identical either way. Same discovery, same sprint demos, same handover. Being nearby is a convenience during discovery, not a requirement.
