Website Maintenance Services That Keep You Online

Updates, backups, security and fixes, handled every month so your site does not quietly break. Website support plans for UK businesses, built around the site you actually have.

What Website Maintenance Actually Covers

A website is not a thing you finish. Plugins update, certificates expire, forms stop sending, and the version of your site that worked perfectly in January can be broken by March without anyone noticing. Website maintenance is the ongoing work that stops that happening: keeping software current, holding backups you can actually restore from, watching for problems, and fixing them when they appear. If nobody in your business owns that job, it is worth handing to someone who does. If you are weighing up quotes, we looked at what 24 published UK maintenance plans actually charge.

What Is Included in Website Support and Maintenance

The work that keeps a site healthy is mostly invisible until it stops happening. This is what we cover.

Updates and Patching

Core software, plugins, themes and dependencies kept current, applied carefully rather than automatically, because an unchecked update is how sites break.

Backups You Can Restore From

Regular backups held off the server, and checked. A backup nobody has ever restored is a hope, not a safety net.

Security and Certificates

SSL renewals, security hardening, malware scanning and patching known vulnerabilities before they get used against you.

Uptime and Performance Monitoring

Automated checks on whether your site is up, how fast it loads, and whether anything has quietly changed. You hear about problems from us, not from a customer.

Content and Small Changes

Price updates, new team members, a changed opening time, a page that needs rewording. The small jobs that pile up when there is nobody to do them. Included as a monthly time allowance on Standard and Priority; quoted at our hourly rate on Essentials.

Reporting You Can Read

A plain-English summary of what was done and what needs attention, monthly on Standard and Priority. No dashboard you have to learn.

Website Maintenance Packages

Three monthly maintenance packages, so you are not paying for cover you do not need. The right plan depends on how much your business relies on the site being up and how often it changes.

Find the Right Plan for Your Site

Prefer to pay as you go? Ad-hoc website support is billed by the hour with a one hour minimum, no monthly commitment.

How the allowance works: time is logged in 15-minute blocks and unused time does not roll over. Edits to existing pages, adding content you supply, form and menu changes, plugin configuration and fixes all come out of your allowance. New pages, redesigns, new functionality and bulk content loads are quoted separately, and anything that would go beyond your remaining allowance is agreed with you before it starts. Essentials has no change allowance. It covers the maintenance work itself, including putting right anything that goes wrong with it. Changes you request, or faults caused by something outside that work, are quoted at our hourly rate before we start. Plans are monthly rolling, per site, with 30 days notice.

Essentials

For brochure sites that need to stay secure and online without much changing month to month.

Core, plugin and theme updates, applied and checked · off-server backups with a tested restore · SSL renewal, malware scanning and admin hardening · uptime checks · email support, answered within two working days

Standard

For businesses whose site brings in enquiries and needs regular small changes.

Everything in Essentials · two hours a month of content and design changes · page speed monitoring · a monthly plain-English summary · next working day response

Priority

For sites that carry real commercial weight, where downtime costs money the same day.

Everything in Standard · four hours a month · a quarterly performance and SEO health check · urgent issues acknowledged the same working day, with a resolution plan · a staging copy for updates where your hosting allows it

How We Take On Your Website, and What Happens Each Month

Here is how a site moves onto one of our website maintenance plans, and what we do once it is there.

We check what your site is built on, what condition it is in and what your hosting already provides. For sites we did not build or host, this is a one hour paid audit, and anything that needs fixing first is quoted before you commit.

Before we change anything, we take a first backup and check it restores. Then we set up uptime monitoring, using the tools your host already provides where they do the job.

Updates are applied and checked, backups are taken and tested, and the site is watched for problems. On Standard and Priority you also get a monthly time allowance for changes and a plain-English summary of what was done.

Who These Website Support Services Suit

Businesses With No In-House Technical Person

If updating a plugin is nobody's job, it does not get done. A support plan makes it somebody's job.

Sites That Generate Enquiries or Sales

If the contact form silently stops sending, you do not get an error. You get a quiet month and no idea why.

Sites Somebody Else Built

We take on maintenance for websites we did not build. We start with a one hour paid audit so we know what we are looking after before we agree to look after it, and if anything needs fixing first, you get a quote before your plan starts.

What Moves the Cost of Website Maintenance

Website maintenance can cost very little or a fair amount each month. These are the things that decide it.

What your site runs on

A static site with no plugins needs very little looking after. A WordPress site with a dozen plugins, a theme and a payment form has far more that can go out of date or break.

How often it changes

If your content rarely changes, maintenance is mostly updates, backups and checks. Regular edits, new offers and team changes need a monthly time allowance on top.

How fast you need a response

Waiting a couple of working days for an answer suits some sites. If downtime costs you money the same day, you need a plan with a faster response.

Whether it takes payments

Ecommerce sites hold orders and customer details, so updates need more care and testing, and a fault costs more for every hour it lasts.

The condition it is in today

A well-kept site can go straight onto a plan. One that has missed years of updates may need work first, which we quote before your plan starts.

Monthly Website Maintenance Plan or Pay as You Go?

Both get problems fixed. The difference is whether anyone is looking before they happen.

You contact us when something needs doing, and we bill the time by the hour with a one hour minimum.

Updates, backups, security checks and monitoring happen every month whether or not anything looks wrong, so problems are caught before your customers find them.

Not sure which suits your site? Tell us what you have and we will recommend one or the other.

Paying as you go

A monthly website care plan

WordPress Support Services

Our WordPress support handles core and plugin updates carefully rather than automatically, watches for abandoned plugins that stop receiving security fixes, and keeps the admin locked down. Updates are tested on a staging copy on Priority plans, where your hosting allows it.

What Happens When Something Breaks

You tell us, or our monitoring does. We confirm the problem, restore from backup if that is the fastest safe route, then fix the underlying cause rather than the symptom. You get told what happened, what fixed it, and what stops it recurring. Response times depend on your plan, and we will tell you straight which plan matches how quickly you need answering.

What does website maintenance include?

Software and plugin updates, backups stored off the server, SSL and security monitoring, uptime and performance checks, small content changes, and fixing things when they break. Exactly which of those you get depends on the plan.

How much does website maintenance cost in the UK?

It depends on four things: how complex the site is, how often it changes, how quickly you need someone to respond, and whether ecommerce is involved. A brochure site that rarely changes needs security and backups and not much else. A site that takes orders or generates enquiries needs monitoring, a change allowance and a faster response. We quote per site rather than per template. We read 24 published UK maintenance plans in September 2026; the breakdown is in our guide to website maintenance costs in the UK.

Do websites really need maintenance?

Any site running a CMS or plugins does. Software gets security patches, certificates expire, and integrations change without warning. A static one-page site needs very little. A WordPress site with a dozen plugins and a payment form needs proper cover.

Why do I need a maintenance plan rather than calling someone when it breaks?

Because the expensive failures are the quiet ones. A hacked site or a form that stopped sending costs far more to deal with after the fact than it does to prevent, and you often do not find out for weeks.

How long does website maintenance take each month?

The routine work is usually under an hour for a small site. Content changes and fixes are on top of that, which is why the plans differ by allowance rather than by task list.

Can you maintain a website you did not build?

Yes. We start with a one hour paid audit to find out what condition it is in, what it is built on and whether your hosting supports what the plan needs. If there is work needed before it can be safely maintained, we tell you what and why, with a quote, before you commit to anything.

Do you provide WordPress support?

Yes. If your site runs on WordPress, our WordPress maintenance covers it: core, theme and plugin updates applied carefully, abandoned plugins spotted before they become a security risk, and the admin kept locked down. For a one-off WordPress problem, ad-hoc support is billed by the hour.

What is the difference between website maintenance and website management?

Website maintenance keeps the site itself healthy: updates, backups, security and fixes. Website management services go further and cover regular changes to the content as well. Our Standard and Priority plans do both, with a monthly time allowance for content and design changes on top of the maintenance work.

What happens if a website is not maintained?

Often nothing, until something breaks. Out-of-date plugins leave known security holes open, an expired certificate puts a warning in front of your visitors, and a contact form can stop sending without anyone noticing. None of it fixes itself.

How quickly will you respond if my site goes down?

It depends on your plan. Essentials includes email support answered within two working days, Standard is next working day, and on Priority urgent issues are acknowledged the same working day with a plan to fix them.

Can I cancel a website maintenance plan?

Yes. Plans are monthly rolling and set up per site, with 30 days notice to cancel. There is no long contract to sign.

Do you offer website maintenance in Warrington?

Yes. We are based in Warrington and work with businesses across Cheshire, Manchester, Liverpool and the North West. If you would rather go through your site in person, that is easy to arrange.

Do we need to be local to use your website support?

No. Website maintenance is done remotely, so businesses anywhere in the UK get exactly the same plans and the same response times.
